FortMyers(迈尔斯堡)
Fort Myers, a thriving town with rich history and natural resources, connects an outward extending island with white beaches, various birds and colorful entertainment activities. The small town is close to the coast of the Caloosahatchee river. Due to the existence of the river, the town was established and its importance was enhanced during the Seminole war. Since the early 19th century, various celebrities and rich people have come to Fort Myers and its surrounding areas to settle and visit, especially Thomas A. Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, who built houses, laboratories and botanical gardens between the river and McGregor Avenue. McGregor Avenue is now the most famous Avenue in the town, thanks to Edison. He planted solemn royal palms on both sides of the old street, which is still the road sign of the town. In February every year, Edison festival of light pageant celebrates his birthday to thank him for his contribution to the small town (he also introduced electricity to Fort Myers). This lantern festival comes to a successful end with the night parade.
